Jonathan Meese - »Dr. Zuhause: K.U.N.S.T. (Erzliebe)«

Ein gemeinsames Ausstellungsprojekt der Kunsthalle St. Annen, der Overbeck-Gesellschaft, des Günter Grass-Hauses, der St. Petri-Kirche zu Lübeck und der Kulturwerft Gollan im Zeitraum Februar bis August 2019 in Lübeck.

Kaum ein Künstler der Gegenwart steht derart in der Öffentlichkeit wie Jonathan Meese (geb. 1970) – und das seit bald zwanzig Jahren. Sein künstlerisches Schaffen – von Malerei, Skulptur, Grafik und Fotografie über Film, Oper, Installation und Performance bis hin zu Gedichten und Texten – erlebt Anfang 2019 einen weiteren Höhepunkt mit dem umfangreichsten Ausstellungsprojekt, das der Künstler bisher konzipiert hat:
Jonathan Meese – »Dr. Zuhause: K.U.N.S.T. (Erzliebe)«. 

Mit seinem Lübeck-Projekt geht Meese konsequent neue Wege und schafft in Lübeck etwas, das es in dieser Form noch nicht gab: Er verwandelt eine ganze Stadt mit einer umfassenden Konzeption zu einem Gesamtkunstwerk, einem Zuhause für die K.U.N.S.T.. und für die Liebe zu der K.U.N.S.T – mit Retrospektiven, Installationen, eigens entwickelten Arbeiten und Performances. Dies geschieht institutionell grenzüberschreitend mit einer groß angelegten Zusammenarbeit der Kunsthalle St. Annen, der Overbeck-Gesellschaft, des Günter Grass-Hauses, der St. Petri-Kirche zu Lübeck und der Kulturwerft Gollan mit dem Künstler. Meese ist Schleswig-Holstein eng verbunden. Er hat seine Kindheit und Jugend in Ahrensburg verbracht und hat neben Berlin noch immer einen Wohnsitz dort.

Das Projekt Jonathan Meese - »Dr. Zuhause: K.U.N.S.T. (Erzliebe)« wird durch zwei Eröffnungen gestartet, am 17. Februar 2019 in St. Petri zu Lübeck und im Günter Grass-Haus, am 30. März in der Kunsthalle St. Annen und in der Overbeck-Gesellschaft.
